Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse

Great story and visually stunning
Everything Everywhere All at Once
Deep Cover

Given the direct-to-streaming release, I expected mindless drivel, but this is a fun watch.
Freaky Tales

Not for everyone, but I liked it. Pulp Fiction-esque in 80s Oakland.
One Battle After Another

Tense and topical. Well crafted.
Good Luck, Have Fun, Don't Die

Original, frenetic, and fun. Avoid the trailer or reading about it before watching if you can.
Polite Society

A fun British-Pakistani teen kung fu wedding heist
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness

Not high cinema or anything, but a rare Marvel movie that’s watchable
Bullet Train

Fast paced, dumb fun. Had to double check this wasn’t a Guy Ritchie movie.
Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre

Mindless fun
The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare

I’m a sucker for Guy Ritchie and Henry Cavill
The Fall Guy
Civil War
The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent
Relay
The Naked Gun

Faithful to the originals
Predator: Badlands

A bit cliché at times, but solid action movie.
Uncharted
Sinners

This was good, but I don’t understand the crazy level of hype.
The Wrecking Crew

Solid action movie that doesn’t take itself too seriously
Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga
Prey
Over Your Dead Body

A bit more gore than I expected, but good cast and some funny moments
The Sleepover

This is a stupid movie that went over great with the family.
Masters of the Universe

My kids hated this, but it was campy and nostalgic for me
Thor: Love and Thunder
John Wick: Chapter 4
The Creator

Story isn’t amazing, but the visuals are
Twisters
Deadpool & Wolverine
Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny
Venom: The Last Dance
Guy Ritchie's The Covenant
Road House

Enjoyable dumb movie
Thunderbolts*

Clears the very low bar of being the best of the superhero movies I saw this year. I don’t know why I keep trying.
Novocaine
Ballerina

It’s another John Wick movie; you already know if you’ll like it.
F1

This was fine, but forgettable
The Amateur

Mix of Mr. Robot and Jason Bourne, but not as good as either.
The Rip

I only watched this because Matt Damon said it had to be optimized for people multitasking. Definitely some slightly awkward dialog at times, but otherwise a solid action film.
The Running Man

I typically love Edgar Wright films, but not this one.
Pixels

Futurama did it first, shorter, and better, but a decent family watch.
Normal

Fargo meets Hot Fuzz, but unfortunately not as good as either. Some decent humor though, so above average for the genre.
In the Grey

If only Guy Ritchie made a sequel to The Man From Uncle instead of this. Not bad, but also not particularly good.
Nobody 2
The Mandalorian and Grogu

I would have adored this as a kid, now even my kids barely care about a new Star War
Spider-Man: Brand New Day
Jurassic World Dominion
Black Adam

Dreadful. I like very few superhero movies, but this may be the worst I’ve seen.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania
Shazam! Fury of the Gods
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3

Enjoyed the first two, but not this one.
The Marvels
Red One
Gladiator II
Superman
Madame Web
Captain America: Brave New World

I don’t know why I even bother to watch these, even on a plane I barely slogged through it.
Blue Beetle
The Fantastic 4: First Steps
Jurassic World Rebirth

They just keep on making these, and I keep on watching due to nostalgia and having kids who love dinosaurs. The effects continue to be great, and there’s no lack of acting talent, but the writing is just so poor and repetitive.
Apex

Some gorgeous scenery, but the sadism is unpleasant and exhausting
Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning

Some impressive stunts, but the dialog is just so horrendous and it’s entirely too long
1. Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One
2. Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning
